Vernon Community Arts Centre 2013
James Postill was one of two lead artists commissioned to create a unique multi media mural at the Vernon Community Arts Centre, BC. James Postill designed the exterior mural to incorporate both buon fresco and fresco secco to demonstrate the different styles and to help combat the more extreme elements of the Okanagan winters.
Ceramicist, Gale Woodhouse, continued the mural inside with clay relief that incorporates glass, metal, stone and fibre throughout the work. The multi media mural project is designed to reflect the art mediums offered by the centre, community involvement and the park setting where the centre is located.
The Vernon Community Arts Centre Mural is one of a few authentic buon fresco artworks open to public view in Western Canada.
